   The Southwest Kansas Library System invites public libraries to submit applications for the 2008 Summer Reading Library Programming Grants.  Funded activities should occur between May 1, 2008 and August 31, 2008.  The window for submissions of the 2008 summer reading programming grant applications is April 1 – May 31, 2008.  Grants will be awarded in amounts up to $100.  Applicant libraries may submit one grant proposal per calendar year. 

Applicants should plan and provide programs that will address the Summer Reading Program.   

Grant funds may be used for, but not limited to:

  • Presenter honorarium/mileage

  • Supplies

  • Incentives/gifts

  •  Food

 Grant stipulations are as follows:

  • Grant applicants must be members of the Southwest Kansas Library System participating in two or more System services.

  • Grants will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until the total budgeted amount is expended.  To determine the eligibility of expenses, contact Carolyn Guernsey, SWKLS.    

  •  The library will submit a written evaluation of the program.  The evaluation form is available on the SWKLS website.
