Print Material Books A great collection of books is available from best sellers to classic fiction, children's books, and nonfiction titles. Large Print Patrons who have difficulty reading small print will find a variety of fiction books in large print. Christian Fiction The library maintains a selection of books with Christian themes for patrons who prefer their reading materials to reflect wholesome values. Reference Included in this section are a variety of encyclopedias including Spanish and scientific, atlases, almanacs, and dictionaries. Young Adult Located in the junior fiction department, young adult readers will find books of interest. Kansas Books From history to famous Kansans to animals or plants native to this region, patrons can learn more about the surrounding area by reading books from the Kansas collection. Southwest Kansas Library System Rotating Books Every two months a new selection of books arrives from the Southwest Kansas Library System. Patrons have the opportunity to read books that may not be owned by Haskell Township Library. The rotating collection features several genres: children's books, best sellers, large print, Spanish, nonfiction, romance, westerns, and self-help. Paperbacks This special selection includes mysteries, romance, classics, and science fiction and is circulated by exchange. Patrons can bring paperback books to the library and exchange them with books from the paperback book exchange. Magazines Popular magazines for all ages are available for check out. Back issues are stored in the periodical room and may also be checked out. Newspapers The library subscribes to The Haskell County Monitor-Chief, The Garden City Telegram, and The Hutchinson News. Multimedia Books on Tape and CD Patrons who have difficulty reading text, spend considerable time in their cars, or just enjoy listening to a good read can check out books on cassette tapes or CDs. Audio books may be checked out for one week. Videos and DVDs Popular and classic movies, kids' videos, fitness tapes, and educational documentaries have a one-week check out period.
